ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Nintedanib Esylate
Nintedanib Esylate falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Sweet Woodruff interacts with.
Sweet woodruff contains coumarin and coumarin derivatives. However, the levels of coumarin found in sweet woodruff are so low that clinically relevant effects are doubtful. Until more is known, use with caution.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the thing to keep in mind with Ofev (nintedanib): on its own, it can already raise your bleeding risk a bit. Some people notice easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums while taking it. Sweet woodruff contains coumarin, which in theory could nudge that bleeding risk a little higher if the two are combined.
The good news is that this concern is mostly theoretical. The amount of coumarin in sweet woodruff is very low, so a real-world problem is unlikely, and we don't have human studies showing it actually happens. Still, since both can lean the same direction, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding sweet woodruff, especially if you've had any unusual bruising or bleeding.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Nintedanib Esylate page
“You take Ofev (nintedanib) to slow lung scarring, and this page deserves a careful read before any supplement joins it. Of the 285 ingredients here, the biggest cluster, over 200, can add to bleeding risk, a real concern since nintedanib itself can make you bleed more easily.”
