Theoretically, use of Terminalia arjuna may increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C9 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Terminalia arjuna extract inhibits CYP2C9 enzymes and reduces CYP2C9 substrate metabolism.

Here's the gist: your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP2C9 to help break down sildenafil. Lab studies suggest Terminalia arjuna may slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happens, sildenafil could clear out of you more slowly and build up, which can make its effects (and side effects) stronger than usual.

For sildenafil, that might mean more headache, flushing, a stuffy nose, dizziness, or a bigger drop in blood pressure. I want to be honest, though: this is only seen in test-tube research, not in real people, so we genuinely don't know how much it matters in everyday life. Food-amount exposure is unlikely to be an issue, but concentrated supplements are a bigger unknown. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Here's the gist for Sildenafil (Viagra or Revatio): your liver relies on an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear it out of your system. Lab studies suggest Terminalia arjuna may slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happens, sildenafil could linger longer and build up, which can amp up its usual side effects like headache, flushing, a stuffy nose, dizziness, or a drop in blood pressure.

I want to be straight with you, though: this is based only on test-tube research, not real people, so it's more of a theoretical concern than a proven problem. Still, since both can lower blood pressure, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, especially if you take it for lung pressure.

Terminalia is a group of traditional Ayurvedic tree species (most notably Terminalia arjuna) used for heart, digestive, and general wellness purposes. Some small studies suggest possible benefits for heart and cholesterol health, but the evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. About Sildenafil

What Is Sildenafil Used For?

Brand name: Revatio

Sildenafil treats two distinct conditions depending on the product. Viagra (tablet) and Vybrique (dissolving oral film) are approved for erectile dysfunction (ED) — difficulty getting or keeping an erection. Generic sildenafil tablets and oral film are also approved for ED.

Revatio and several generic sildenafil products (tablets, oral suspension, and injection) are used for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) — high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs — in adults to improve exercise ability and slow the disease from getting worse. Revatio oral suspension and injection are also approved for PAH in children ages 1 to 17.
