Esomeprazole, Naproxen falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Thunder God Vine interacts with.
In vitro research shows that triptolide, a constituent of thunder god vine, inhibits CYP1A2 enzymes in human microsomes. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Vimovo combines naproxen (an anti-inflammatory) with esomeprazole (a stomach-protecting acid reducer). The concern here is mostly theoretical. In test-tube studies, a compound in thunder god vine called triptolide slowed down an enzyme (CYP1A2) that helps the body process certain drugs. If that happened in real life, naproxen levels might creep up a bit, which could mean more of its usual side effects, like stomach upset, heartburn, fluid retention, or, with long use, stomach irritation or kidney strain.
To be clear, this has never actually been seen in people, so it's a maybe, not a sure thing. Still, thunder god vine itself can be hard on the body. Before combining them, please check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

Vimovo combines two medicines: esomeprazole (an acid reducer) and naproxen (an anti-inflammatory pain reliever). Lab-dish studies hint that a compound in thunder god vine, triptolide, may slow down a liver enzyme (CYP3A4) that helps break down certain drugs. In theory, that could let a little more of these medicines hang around in your body.
Here's the honest part: this is only a theoretical concern from test-tube research, and it has never actually been reported in real people. If levels did rise, you might notice more of naproxen's usual issues like stomach upset, heartburn, or a higher bleeding risk. Both also share their own side effects worth watching. Since thunder god vine can be genuinely toxic on its own, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.
