Alogliptin, Metformin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, tree turmeric, taken alone or in combination with milk thistle, might increase the risk of hypoglycemia in patients taking antidiabetes drugs.
Clinical research shows that taking a product containing tree turmeric and milk thistle extracts can lower blood glucose levels, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes, including those on antidiabetic agents. Additionally, clinical research suggests that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can lower blood glucose levels.

Here's the thing to know if you take Kazano (which combines alogliptin and metformin) and you're thinking about tree turmeric. The berberine in tree turmeric can lower blood sugar on its own. Stack that on top of your diabetes medicine, which is already working to bring your sugar down, and the two can add up. The worry isn't that anything blocks how Kazano is broken down; it's simply a double dose of blood-sugar lowering.

That can tip you into hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), with signs like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or confusion. Good news: real studies back this effect, so it's not just a theory. Please don't start or stop anything on your own. Check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your home glucose readings if you do combine them.
