This combo product pairs amitriptyline (a sedating tricyclic antidepressant) with perphenazine (an antipsychotic). Both already tend to make people drowsy, and they can cause things like grogginess, dizziness, blurry vision, and a foggy head. Tree turmeric's main ingredient, berberine, showed mild sedative effects in animal studies, so the worry is that piling it on top could deepen that drowsiness.

Here's the honest part: this is a theoretical concern based on lab and animal work, not solid human studies, so I wouldn't panic. Still, since amitriptyline and perphenazine are already heavy on the sleepy side, it's smart to run tree turmeric by your pharmacist or doctor first, especially before driving or if you already feel oversedated.

This combination pill pairs amitriptyline (an antidepressant) with perphenazine (an antipsychotic), and both lean heavily on a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to be broken down. The berberine in tree turmeric appears to slow that enzyme down. So in theory, adding this supplement could let these medications build up higher than expected in your body.

If that happens, you may notice more of their usual side effects: drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, blurry vision, dizziness on standing, or a faster heartbeat. I'll be honest, this is mostly based on lab work and early human data, so it's a possible concern rather than a proven one.
