Disopyramide Phosphate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, tree turmeric might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs that are substrates of CYP3A4.
In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence suggest that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, moderately inhibits CYP3A4.

Here's the thing with disopyramide (Norpace): your liver leans on an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break it down and clear it out. The berberine in tree turmeric can slow that enzyme down, so the drug may not be cleared as fast and its levels could creep up in your blood.

That matters because disopyramide is a heart rhythm medication with a narrow safety window. Higher levels can mean more of its known side effects, like dry mouth, blurry vision, trouble urinating, constipation, low blood pressure, or in some cases a worsening heart rhythm. The science here is mostly theoretical and lab-based, so I don't want to alarm you, but I'd genuinely run this by your pharmacist or cardiologist before combining the two.

About Disopyramide

What Is Disopyramide Used For?

Brand names: Norpace CR, Norpace

Disopyramide — available as Disopyramide Phosphate, Norpace, and Norpace CR — is indicated for the treatment of documented ventricular arrhythmias, such as sustained ventricular tachycardia (a fast, dangerous heart rhythm), that a physician judges to be life-threatening.

Because this drug can itself cause arrhythmias, it is not recommended for minor or symptom-free arrhythmias. Treatment is started in a hospital setting so the heart can be closely monitored. Antiarrhythmic drugs like disopyramide have not been shown to improve survival in patients with ventricular arrhythmias.
