Labetalol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, taking tree turmeric along with antihypertensive drugs might have additive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research suggests that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can have hypotensive effects. Also, a meta-analysis of clinical research suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine (Norvasc) can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with taking amlodipine alone.

Here's the simple version: tree turmeric (and its active compound, berberine) may lower blood pressure on its own. Since labetalol already does that job by relaxing your blood vessels and slowing your heart rate, stacking the two together could push your blood pressure down a little too far. If that happens, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, tired, or woozy when you stand up quickly.

I want to be honest about how strong this evidence is though. Right now it's mostly based on lab and animal studies, plus some research using berberine with a different blood pressure pill, so it's more of a theoretical concern than a proven problem. Concentrated berberine supplements are far more likely to matter than a sprinkle in food. Before adding it, check in with your pharmacist or doctor, and keep an eye on your readings at home.

Labetalol tablets (Labetalol HCL, Labetalol Hydrochloride oral) are used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). They can be used alone or alongside other blood pressure medicines, such as diuretics. By lowering blood pressure, labetalol helps reduce the risk of serious events like stroke and heart attack.

Labetalol injection products (LABETALOL HCl, Labetalol HCl in Dextrose, Labetalol HCl in Sodium Chloride, Labetalol Hydrochloride intravenous) are used specifically for severe hypertension and are given intravenously in a hospital setting.
