Metformin, Sitagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, tree turmeric, taken alone or in combination with milk thistle, might increase the risk of hypoglycemia in patients taking antidiabetes drugs.
Clinical research shows that taking a product containing tree turmeric and milk thistle extracts can lower blood glucose levels, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes, including those on antidiabetic agents. Additionally, clinical research suggests that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can lower blood glucose levels.

Janumet combines two diabetes medicines (metformin and sitagliptin) that already work to bring your blood sugar down. The thing to know with tree turmeric is that its main ingredient, berberine, can lower blood sugar on its own. Stacking it on top of Janumet can push your sugar a bit too low. Good-quality human studies back up that berberine and tree turmeric blends really do drop blood glucose and HbA1c, so this is not just a theory.

If your sugar dips too far, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, irritable, or suddenly very hungry. That doesn't mean you can't use it, but please loop in your pharmacist or doctor first. They may want you to check your sugar more closely and possibly adjust your dose. Don't change anything on your own.
