Here's the basic idea with these two together. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2C9 to break down piroxicam and clear it from your body. The berberine in tree turmeric appears to slow that enzyme down, so piroxicam could hang around longer and build up to higher levels than usual.

For piroxicam, more drug in your system can mean more of its typical NSAID side effects: stomach upset or pain, heartburn, a higher chance of stomach irritation or bleeding, fluid retention, and added strain on the kidneys. I'll be honest, this is mostly theoretical and based on limited human data, so it isn't a sure thing. Still, since piroxicam already carries real GI risk, it's worth checking with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Theoretically, tree turmeric might have additive effects when used with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs and increase the risk of bleeding.
In vitro and animal research suggest that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can inhibit platelet aggregation.

Here's the thing with this pairing. Piroxicam is an NSAID, and like other NSAIDs it already nudges up bleeding risk a bit by making your platelets less sticky and by being a little rough on the stomach lining. Tree turmeric (mainly its berberine) seems to do something similar in lab and animal studies, slowing how platelets clump together. So the worry is that the two together could add up and make bleeding a touch more likely.

I want to be honest about the evidence though: this is theoretical and comes only from test-tube and animal research, not solid human studies, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, watch for things like easy bruising, nosebleeds, dark or bloody stools, or stomach upset. Run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially in concentrated supplement doses.
