Simvastatin, Sitagliptin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, tree turmeric might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs that are substrates of CYP3A4.
In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence suggest that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, moderately inhibits CYP3A4.

This combo pill pairs simvastatin (a cholesterol medicine) with sitagliptin (a blood sugar medicine). The part that matters here is the simvastatin, which your liver breaks down using an enzyme called CYP3A4. Berberine, the active ingredient in tree turmeric, can slow that enzyme down. When it does, more simvastatin can linger in your body than usual.

Higher simvastatin levels can mean a bigger chance of muscle aches, weakness, or, rarely, more serious muscle problems. Sitagliptin isn't affected much this way. The evidence that berberine blocks CYP3A4 is real but still fairly early, so don't panic. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding tree turmeric, rather than changing anything on your own.

Theoretically, tree turmeric, taken alone or in combination with milk thistle, might increase the risk of hypoglycemia in patients taking antidiabetes drugs.
Clinical research shows that taking a product containing tree turmeric and milk thistle extracts can lower blood glucose levels, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes, including those on antidiabetic agents. Additionally, clinical research suggests that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can lower blood glucose levels.

Juvisync combines two medicines: sitagliptin, which lowers blood sugar, and simvastatin, a cholesterol pill. The piece that matters here is the sitagliptin half. Tree turmeric (and the berberine in it) can nudge your blood sugar down on its own. Stack that on top of a diabetes medicine that already lowers sugar and you may go too low. That's called hypoglycemia, and it can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or confusion.

This isn't a wild guess. Good human studies show berberine-containing products really do drop blood glucose and HbA1c. The interaction is rated moderate and likely, so it's worth respecting. Please don't start or stop anything on your own. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor first, and if you do use both, watch your sugar readings more closely.
