Janumet pairs two blood sugar lowering medicines: metformin and sitagliptin. Neither one is a prodrug, so we don't have to worry about turkey tail flipping how they work. The concern here is simpler and additive. In animal studies, turkey tail (and one of its polysaccharide components) seemed to lower blood sugar on its own. Stack that on top of your diabetes medicine and, in theory, your sugar could dip a bit lower than expected.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on lab and animal work, not strong human data. Still, it's worth watching for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or confusion, which are signs of low blood sugar. Don't stop anything on your own, just check with your pharmacist or doctor and keep an eye on your numbers if you add this mushroom.
