Here's the gist with Empliciti (elotuzumab) and turmeric. This isn't about turmeric speeding up or slowing down how your body handles the drug. Elotuzumab is a monoclonal antibody, so it isn't processed by the liver enzymes that many pills rely on. The concern here is simpler: both can be hard on the liver, so stacking them might add up.

I'll be straight with you, this is mostly theoretical and based on scattered reports, not strong studies. The worry is really about concentrated, high-dose, highly absorbable curcumin supplements, not the turmeric you sprinkle on food. Since your cancer team already watches your liver labs, just tell them before adding any turmeric supplement so they can keep an eye on things.

About Elotuzumab Injection

What Is Elotuzumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Empliciti

Empliciti is used to treat multiple myeloma (a cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow) in adults who have already tried other treatments. It is always given as part of a combination regimen — never alone.

Empliciti combined with lenalidomide and dexamethasone is used in adults who have received one to three prior therapies. Empliciti combined with pomalidomide and dexamethasone is used in adults who have received at least two prior therapies, including lenalidomide and a proteasome inhibitor.
