Loncastuximab Tesirine-Lpyl falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, turmeric might increase the absorption of P-glycoprotein substrates.
In vitro and animal research shows that curcuminoids and other constituents found in turmeric can inhibit P-glycoprotein expression and activity.

Here's the honest picture with Zynlonta (loncastuximab tesirine) and turmeric. The concern on file is that curcumin, the active part of turmeric, may block a transporter called P-glycoprotein. In theory, slowing that pump could let a little more of certain drugs stay in the body. But this idea comes only from lab and animal studies, not from people, so it's very much a maybe, not a proven problem.

Keep in mind Zynlonta is an infusion given by your cancer team, and it's a large antibody-drug conjugate, not a simple pill that gut transporters easily move. The everyday seasoning amount of turmeric is unlikely to matter. If you're thinking about a concentrated curcumin supplement, run it by your oncologist or pharmacist first so nothing affects your treatment or raises side effects.

  • Loncastuximab tesirine-lpyl injection is used to treat a certain type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL; a type of cancer that begins in a type of white blood cells that normally fights infection) that did not respond to or has returned after treatment with at least two other cancer treatments. Loncastuximab tesirine-lpyl is in a class of medications called antibody-drug conjugates. It works by killing cancer cells.
