Turmeric + Prasterone (prescription drug)
Prasterone (prescription drug) brand name: Intrarosa.
Turmeric has a minor interaction with Prasterone (prescription drug). Theoretically, large amounts of turmeric might interfere with hormone replacement therapy through competition for estrogen receptors.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ESTROGENS
Why this applies to Prasterone (prescription drug)
Prasterone (prescription drug) falls under ESTROGENS — the group Turmeric interacts with.
In vitro research shows that curcumin, a constituent of turmeric, displaces the binding of estrogen to its receptors.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with Intrarosa (prasterone) and turmeric. Prasterone is a hormone your body converts into estrogen and testosterone right in the vaginal tissue, which helps ease the dryness and painful intercourse that can come with menopause. The concern on file is that curcumin, the active part of turmeric, might compete with estrogen at its receptors and slightly blunt how well that local hormone effect works.
Honestly, though, this is a very weak, theoretical worry. It comes only from lab dish studies, not from people, and it's rated minor. Everyday turmeric in your cooking is not going to be an issue. If you take concentrated curcumin capsules, it's worth a quick mention to your pharmacist or doctor, but there's no need to stop anything on your own.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Prasterone (prescription drug)
This page covers Turmeric only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Prasterone (prescription drug) page lists 63 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Grapefruit (major), Aletris (moderate), Alfalfa (moderate), Androstenediol (moderate) and Androstenedione (moderate).
By severity: 1 major · 56 moderate · 6 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Prasterone (prescription drug) page
“Grapefruit is the single major-rated interaction on prasterone's (Intrarosa) list, and it earns that spot. It blocks the enzyme that clears estrogens, so estrogen levels can climb, and side effects with them.”

About Turmeric
What is Turmeric?
- Joint pain and arthritis
- Inflammation
- Digestive upset
- Antioxidant support
- Skin conditions
Turmeric is a popular spice whose main active compounds, curcuminoids, are studied mostly for inflammation and joint pain. Some research is promising, but quality is mixed and curcumin is poorly absorbed on its own. For most people, dietary amounts are safe, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before taking concentrated supplements, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or have a medical condition.
About Prasterone Vaginal
What Is Prasterone Vaginal Used For?
Brand name: Intrarosa
Intrarosa (prasterone) vaginal insert is used to treat moderate to severe dyspareunia — that is, pain during sex — which is a symptom of vulvar and vaginal atrophy (thinning and drying of vaginal tissues) caused by menopause.
