Turmeric + Lusutrombopag
Lusutrombopag brand name: Mulpleta.
Turmeric has a minor interaction with Lusutrombopag. Theoretically, turmeric might increase the absorption of P-glycoprotein substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Lusutrombopag
Lusutrombopag falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Turmeric interacts with.
In vitro and animal research shows that curcuminoids and other constituents found in turmeric can inhibit P-glycoprotein expression and activity.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for Mulpleta (lusutrombopag). It moves around the body partly with the help of a transporter called P-glycoprotein. Turmeric's curcumin compounds may gently slow that transporter down, which could let a little more of your medicine get absorbed. In theory, that extra exposure might nudge up lusutrombopag's platelet-raising effect.
The good news is this concern comes only from lab and animal studies, not from people, and it's rated as minor. The pinch of turmeric in your cooking is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated curcumin capsules are the bigger question mark. Since you're taking this drug for a short window around a procedure, just mention any turmeric supplements to your pharmacist or doctor first.

“If you take lusutrombopag (Mulpleta), it is probably a short course meant to raise your platelet count before a procedure, and that narrow window is exactly why these 54 interactions deserve real respect. The two rated major, St.”

About Turmeric
What is Turmeric?
- Joint pain and arthritis
- Inflammation
- Digestive upset
- Antioxidant support
- Skin conditions
Turmeric is a popular spice whose main active compounds, curcuminoids, are studied mostly for inflammation and joint pain. Some research is promising, but quality is mixed and curcumin is poorly absorbed on its own. For most people, dietary amounts are safe, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before taking concentrated supplements, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or have a medical condition.
