Tirofiban falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Vinpocetine interacts with.

Vinpocetine might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Clinical research shows that vinpocetine decreases red blood cell aggregation, as well as plasma and whole blood viscosity. This effect has been seen with intravenous vinpocetine 1 mg/kg and oral vinpocetine 30 mg daily. Vinpocetine also seems to have antiplatelet effects.

Here's the thing to know about Tirofiban (Aggrastat): it's a powerful IV antiplatelet drug given in the hospital, usually during heart procedures or for certain types of chest pain. Its whole job is to keep your platelets from clumping together so clots don't form. Vinpocetine appears to do something similar on a smaller scale. Research suggests it can make platelets a little less sticky and thin the blood slightly.

Stack those two together and you're essentially pushing in the same direction, which could raise your bleeding risk, things like easy bruising, oozing from IV sites, nosebleeds, or harder-to-stop bleeding. The evidence here is modest, but since Tirofiban is already a strong blood thinner used in a critical setting, this is worth flagging. Please tell your care team about any vinpocetine before a procedure rather than stopping anything on your own.

What Is Tirofiban Used For?

Brand name: Aggrastat

Tirofiban hydrochloride injection — available as Aggrastat and under the generic names Tirofiban and Tirofiban Hydrochloride — is used intravenously in people with non-ST elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS), a type of unstable heart condition where blood flow to the heart is dangerously reduced.

The goal is to lower the combined risk of death, heart attack (myocardial infarction), or persistent ischemia (insufficient blood flow to the heart) that may require a repeat cardiac procedure.
