Dipyridamole falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Vinpocetine interacts with.

Vinpocetine might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Clinical research shows that vinpocetine decreases red blood cell aggregation, as well as plasma and whole blood viscosity. This effect has been seen with intravenous vinpocetine 1 mg/kg and oral vinpocetine 30 mg daily. Vinpocetine also seems to have antiplatelet effects.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: dipyridamole already works by making your platelets less sticky so your blood doesn't clot too easily. Vinpocetine appears to do something similar. Studies show it can lower how much your red blood cells clump together and may have its own mild antiplatelet effect. So when you stack the two, you're essentially pushing in the same direction, and that can add up to a higher chance of bleeding.

What might that look like in real life? Easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or cuts that take longer to stop. The evidence here is modest, not alarming, but since you're on dipyridamole after a valve replacement, please don't add vinpocetine without first checking with your doctor or pharmacist.

What Is Dipyridamole Used For?

Brand names: Persantine, Dipyridamole, Persantin, Persantin Injection, Persantin Retard

Dipyridamole tablets are used alongside warfarin (a blood thinner) to help prevent dangerous blood clots from forming after cardiac valve replacement surgery. It is not used alone for this purpose — it works as an add-on to anticoagulant therapy.

Dipyridamole Injection is used as an alternative to exercise during thallium myocardial perfusion imaging — a type of heart scan that checks blood flow through the coronary arteries. It is given to patients who are unable to exercise adequately for the test.
