Apixaban falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Vinpocetine interacts with.

Vinpocetine might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Clinical research shows that vinpocetine decreases red blood cell aggregation, as well as plasma and whole blood viscosity. This effect has been seen with intravenous vinpocetine 1 mg/kg and oral vinpocetine 30 mg daily. Vinpocetine also seems to have antiplatelet effects.

Here's the short version: Apixaban (Eliquis) is already a blood thinner, and vinpocetine seems to have mild blood-thinning effects of its own. It can make platelets a bit less sticky and your blood a little less thick. Stacking those two together may add up to a higher chance of bleeding.

What that could look like in real life is easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or bleeding that takes longer to stop. More serious signs would be black or bloody stools, pink or red urine, or unusual headaches. The evidence here is moderate and the risk is possible, not certain, but since Apixaban already raises bleeding risk, I wouldn't pair these on your own. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding vinpocetine.

About Apixaban

What Is Apixaban Used For?

Brand name: Eliquis

Apixaban is used to reduce the risk of stroke and dangerous clots traveling through the body in adults with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm not caused by a heart valve problem). It is also used to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT — a blood clot in the leg) in adults after hip or knee replacement surgery, and to treat DVT and pulmonary embolism (PE — a blood clot in the lungs) in adults, including reducing the risk of those clots coming back.

Eliquis (the brand-name tablet and kit) is additionally approved to treat venous thromboembolism (VTE — blood clots in the veins) and reduce the risk of recurrent VTE in pediatric patients from birth and older, after at least 5 days of initial anticoagulant treatment. The generic apixaban tablet carries the adult indications only.
