Vinpocetine + Dronabinol
Dronabinol brand names: Marinol, Syndros.
Vinpocetine has a moderate interaction with Dronabinol. Theoretically, vinpocetine might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Dronabinol
Dronabinol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Vinpocetine interacts with.
In vitro research shows that vinpocetine weakly inhibits CYP2C9. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for combining vinpocetine with dronabinol (Marinol, Syndros). Your body partly relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2C9 to break dronabinol down. Lab studies suggest vinpocetine can mildly slow that enzyme. If that happened in people, dronabinol could clear a bit more slowly and build up, which might mean stronger effects like dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, a faster heartbeat, or that uncomfortable "too high" feeling.
The reassuring part: this is only a theoretical concern based on test-tube work, and it has never actually been seen in humans. The enzyme block also looks weak. So I wouldn't panic, but since dronabinol can already make you sleepy, it's worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Dronabinol page
“A glass of grapefruit juice can push dronabinol (Marinol, Syndros), the prescription form of THC used for chemotherapy nausea and appetite loss, to higher blood levels than intended, amplifying dizziness, sedation, and its mind-altering effects. That is one of three major-rated interactions among the 151 supplements and herbs on file,…”

What is Vinpocetine?
- Memory and cognitive support
- Brain blood flow
- Stroke recovery
- Age-related memory decline
- Tinnitus and hearing concerns
Vinpocetine is a lab-made compound based on a chemical from the periwinkle plant, and it is marketed mainly for memory and brain health. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before trying it.
About Dronabinol
What Is Dronabinol Used For?
Brand names: Marinol, Syndros
Dronabinol — available as capsules (Marinol, Dronabinol) and as an oral solution (Syndros, Dronabinol oral solution) — is approved for two conditions in adults. First, it treats anorexia (severely reduced appetite) associated with weight loss in patients with AIDS. Second, it controls nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy in patients who have not gotten enough relief from standard anti-nausea treatments.
Both uses apply to all available formulations, but dosing timing and meal instructions differ between the capsule and oral solution products. Always follow the specific instructions for the product you have been prescribed.
