Here's the simple version: Librax already contains chlordiazepoxide, a benzodiazepine that calms the brain and can make you drowsy. Wild lettuce is traditionally used to relax and help with sleep, so the worry is that the two together could pile on. That might leave you feeling extra sleepy, foggy, dizzy, or unsteady on your feet, and in some cases slow your breathing.

I'll be honest with you, this concern is mostly theoretical, based on how each one acts rather than strong human studies on the combo. Still, since both can have a calming effect, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding wild lettuce, especially if you drive or are older.

Chlordiazepoxide, Clidinium Bromide also falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS.

Studies report varying evidence on whether or not wild lettuce contains hyoscyamine, an anticholinergic drug. If it does, it appears to be in very low amounts. Nevertheless, there have been case reports of individuals consuming large amounts of wild lettuce experiencing anticholinergic-related side effects, such as constipation, dry mouth, dizziness, and sweating. Therefore, if you are already taking a drug with anticholinergic effects, you should be cautious about combining it with wild lettuce as the risk of side effects may be increased.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with Librax. The clidinium part is an anticholinergic, meaning it already dries you out a bit to calm stomach spasms. Wild lettuce may carry small amounts of anticholinergic compounds too, and there are case reports of people who took large amounts ending up with dry mouth, constipation, blurry vision, dizziness, and flushing. Stack that on top of clidinium and those same effects could add up.

On top of that, the chlordiazepoxide is a calming benzodiazepine, and wild lettuce is taken for its own sedating effect, so combining them could leave you extra drowsy or foggy. The evidence here is fairly weak and a little tea probably won't do much, but concentrated supplement doses are a different story. Please run this combo by your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

Chlordiazepoxide and clidinium capsules are used to help control both the physical and emotional factors involved in gastrointestinal (digestive) disorders. This includes use as add-on therapy for peptic ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome (also called irritable colon, spastic colon, or mucous colitis), and acute enterocolitis (sudden inflammation of the intestines).

Librax is one brand available in capsule form and is approved for the same set of gastrointestinal uses.
