Here's the simple version: Wild lettuce has a mild calming, sleepy quality in lab and animal studies, and hydrocodone is a strong opioid that already slows down your brain and nervous system. Put the two together and they may stack up on each other, so you could feel more drowsy, more foggy, dizzy, or have slower breathing than from the hydrocodone alone.

To be honest, this concern is theoretical, based on how these things work rather than real human studies, so we don't know how big the effect really is. Hydrocodone works on its own (it's not a prodrug that needs activating), so wild lettuce isn't changing how it's processed, just possibly adding to the sedation. Please run this by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially since slowed breathing with opioids is serious.
