Methantheline (Banthine) is an anticholinergic medicine, which means it works by dialing down certain nerve signals. It's used to calm an overactive gut or bladder, and along the way it commonly causes things like dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, trouble urinating, and a faster heartbeat.

Here's the concern with wild lettuce: some reports suggest it may carry small amounts of anticholinergic-type compounds, and people who took large amounts have noticed things like dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, and sweating. Stacked on top of Banthine, those overlapping effects could add up and feel stronger. The evidence here is weak, and small culinary amounts likely won't matter much, but concentrated supplement doses are worth being careful with. Please run this past your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
