Pregabalin (Lyrica) calms overactive nerves, which is how it eases nerve pain, seizures, and anxiety, and that calming action stacks with almost everything on this list. Of the 95 supplements and herbs, the large majority add their own sedation on top of pregabalin's, and a few can tip that into genuine danger, with deep sedation and slowed breathing at the serious end. Alcohol (beer and wine both carry major ratings) and kava sit in that top group, so this is a list that deserves real care rather than a quick skim.

A smaller cluster works differently, interfering with how oral medicines are absorbed. Activated charcoal, also rated major, can soak up a dose before it reaches the bloodstream, and some bulking fibers may do the same in milder form, so keep those well apart from pill times.
