Moringa + Pregabalin
Pregabalin brand names: Lyrica, Lyrica CR.
We found no known interaction between Moringa and Pregabalin in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Moringa and Pregabalin
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Pregabalin and Moringa in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding ratings are from Natural Medicines (Therapeutic Research Center) — the full detail is in the Special populations card below. Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
Why No Interaction Is Listed for Pregabalin
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Pregabalin is filed under 3 classifications — including cns depressants, oral drugs. Moringa has documented interactions with 6 drug classes — the most serious being cytochrome p450 3a4 (cyp3a4) substrates (moderate), levothyroxine (synthroid, others) (moderate) and p-glycoprotein substrates (moderate) — and none of Pregabalin’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Moringa Does Interact With Other Medications
Moringa has 717 moderate, 152 minor known drug interactions in our database — Pregabalin isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

Moringa in Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
When the leaf is used orally during the second or third trimesters, short-term. Moringa leaf powder or extract 500 mg daily for up to 4 months has been used with apparent safety during the second and third trimesters. There is insufficient reliable information available about the safety of using moringa leaf by mouth during the first trimester.
When the root, bark, or flower are used orally. Traditionally, moringa root bark and gum from moringa trunk bark have been used to induce abortion. When taken orally along with black peppercorns to induce abortion, moringa root bark may cause fatality. Animal research shows that moringa flower can cause uterine contractions; however, this has not been assessed in humans. There is insufficient reliable information about the safety of using moringa seed during pregnancy; avoid using.
When moringa leaf is used orally, short-term. Moringa leaf powder or extract 2 grams daily has been used during lactation with apparent safety for up to 4 months. There is insufficient reliable information available about the safety of using other parts of moringa during lactation; avoid using.

What Pregabalin Is Prescribed For, and What Moringa Has Been Studied For
These two come up together because they touch the same health topic — not because they do the same job. Pregabalin is a prescription medicine with approved uses on its FDA label. Moringa is a supplement: what follows is what researchers have looked at it for, and how strong that evidence is.
Pregabalin is prescribed for: Pregabalin is used to manage several types of nerve pain, including neuropathic pain from diabetic peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage caused by diabetes) and postherpetic neuralgia (lingering nerve pain after shingles). It is also used to treat fibromyalgia and neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury. Lyrica (capsule and oral solution), pregabalin capsules, and pregabalin oral solution are also approved as add-on therapy for partial-onset seizures — Lyrica for patients 1 month and older, and pregabalin capsules for patients 17 years and older. Lyrica CR and pregabalin extended-release tablets are approved only for diabetic peripheral neuropathy pain and postherpetic neuralgia — their effectiveness for fibromyalgia or as seizure add-on therapy has not been established.

Moringa for diabetes
It is unclear if oral moringa leaf is beneficial in patients with diabetes; research is conflicting.
Effectiveness ratings and the research summaries above are the verbatim record from the Natural Medicines database, which grades evidence from “Effective” down to “Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate”. A rating below the top of that scale means researchers have looked at it — not that it works, and never that it can stand in for a prescribed medicine. Do not stop or replace Pregabalin on your own; if you are taking Moringa for the same health topic, tell your prescriber, especially if the medicine is being adjusted to a target.
Questions About Moringa or Pregabalin

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Pregabalin page
“Pregabalin (Lyrica) calms overactive nerves, which is how it eases nerve pain, seizures, and anxiety, and that calming action stacks with almost everything on this list. Of the 95 supplements and herbs, the large majority add their own sedation on top of pregabalin's, and a few can tip that into genuine danger, with deep sedation and s…”

- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Moringa reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 13, 2026. The Moringa and Pregabalin records this page draws on were last updated July 11, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Moringa
What is Moringa?
- Nutritional supplement
- Blood sugar support
- Cholesterol support
- Inflammation
- Skin conditions
Moringa is a nutrient-rich plant whose leaves are widely used as a food and supplement, especially in parts of the world where malnutrition is common. Early research hints at possible benefits for blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation, but the human evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using moringa, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medications.

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Moringa is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Moringa record says about it on its own.
Moringa: dosing
There is no well-established standard dose for moringa. Studies have used different forms and amounts, so it is hard to recommend a single dose.If you choose to use a moringa supplement, follow the directions on the product label and do not exceed the recommended amount.
