Moringa + Triamcinolone
Triamcinolone brand names: Aristocort, Kenacort, Adcortyl Intra-articular / Intradermal, Kenalog Intra-articular / Intramuscular, Adcortyl in Orabase, and others.
Moringa has a moderate interaction with Triamcinolone. Theoretically, moringa leaf extract might increase the levels and clinical effects of P-glycoprotein substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Triamcinolone
Triamcinolone falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Moringa interacts with.
In vitro research shows that moringa leaf extract inhibits renal P-glycoprotein transport activity. So far, this reaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with moringa and triamcinolone. Triamcinolone is a corticosteroid (not a prodrug), and it's partly moved around the body by a transporter called P-glycoprotein. Lab studies suggest moringa leaf extract may block that transporter, which could theoretically let a little more triamcinolone build up. If that happened, you might notice more of the usual steroid effects, things like fluid retention, higher blood sugar, mood or sleep changes, or stomach upset.
I want to be straight with you though: this is based only on test-tube and animal work, and it has not been seen in real people. Food amounts of moringa are very unlikely to matter. If you're using concentrated moringa supplements, just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up so they can keep an eye on things.

Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Triamcinolone page
“Triamcinolone, the steroid in Kenalog injections, Aristocort, and several creams and dental pastes, earns real caution with supplements, and the three major-rated pairings are the ones to understand first. St.”

About Moringa
What is Moringa?
- Nutritional supplement
- Blood sugar support
- Cholesterol support
- Inflammation
- Skin conditions
Moringa is a nutrient-rich plant whose leaves are widely used as a food and supplement, especially in parts of the world where malnutrition is common. Early research hints at possible benefits for blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation, but the human evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using moringa, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medications.
About Triamcinolone
What Is Triamcinolone Used For?
Brand names: Aristocort, Kenacort, Adcortyl Intra-articular / Intradermal, Kenalog Intra-articular / Intramuscular, Adcortyl in Orabase, Triesence
Triamcinolone is available in many forms — injections, creams, ointments, nasal sprays, dental pastes, and eye injections — each approved for specific uses. Injectable forms given into muscle are used when oral steroids aren't an option, covering severe allergies (like asthma flares, severe skin reactions, drug reactions, and serum sickness), serious skin diseases, certain endocrine (hormonal) disorders, and more.
Injections given directly into a joint (intra-articular) or soft tissue help with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, gout flares, bursitis, and tendon inflammation. Injections into skin lesions (intralesional) treat conditions such as keloids, alopecia areata, and psoriatic plaques. Triesence (an ophthalmic injection) is specifically indicated for eye conditions like uveitis and temporal arteritis, and for visualization during eye surgery. Topical creams, ointments, lotions, and sprays relieve itching and inflammation from corticosteroid-responsive skin conditions. Dental paste forms (Oralone, Kourzeq) treat painful mouth sores from injury. Nasal sprays temporarily relieve hay fever and upper respiratory allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, and congestion.

Triamcinolone Is Linked to Lower Levels of 8 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Triamcinolone as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Moringa — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
