CinnaBoost Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking CinnaBoost against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of CinnaBoost by Garden Greens
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
CinnaBoost has 2 active ingredients: cinnamon extract and a standardized cinnamon extract. Both are forms of cassia cinnamon, which is the spice you know from cooking.
The product also contains inactive ingredients — cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, vegetable magnesium stearate, and silica — which are fillers and binders that help hold the capsule together.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for cinnamon isn't established in the data we hold. We have no sufficient reliable evidence to rate it for amenorrhea, angina, common cold, diabetes, diarrhea, or dyslipidemia (high blood fats).
That doesn't mean it doesn't work — it means the studies aren't solid enough yet for us to say.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Food amounts of cinnamon are generally well tolerated. At higher supplement doses, especially over a long time, there's concern about liver damage because of the coumarin in cassia cinnamon.
In clinical trials, people took 360 mg to 12 grams daily for up to 3 months without a significant increase in liver enzymes, but long-term safety at high doses isn't fully known. A small number of trial participants reported a rash or, in rare cases, skin reactions if they had a cinnamon allergy.
One person taking cinnamon also reported a low blood sugar event (hypoglycemia), though it's unclear if cinnamon caused it. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, food amounts appear likely safe, but you should avoid medicinal or high-dose supplement amounts — the data on those isn't solid enough.
Talk with your pharmacist or doctor if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your pharmacist if you take diabetes medications (antidiabetes drugs) — cinnamon may lower your blood sugar and could require a dose adjustment. Also double-check if you take any medications that stress the liver (hepatotoxic drugs), since high-dose cinnamon over time could add to that burden.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you take diabetes medications or drugs that affect your liver, run this past your pharmacist first — cinnamon can lower blood sugar and theoretically add to liver stress at high doses. The product is generally well tolerated at typical supplement doses, but long-term safety at high doses isn't fully settled.
Food amounts are fine, but stick to what the label says.

CinnaBoost by Garden Greens Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
CinnaBoost by Garden Greens contains cinnamon extract, which does interact with some medications.
The main concern is with drugs that stress the liver (hepatotoxic drugs). In theory, large doses of cassia cinnamon over time could add to that stress, since cinnamon contains coumarin — a compound that can damage the liver in animal studies.
In humans, very high doses of coumarin (50–7,000 mg per day) have caused liver damage, though it reversed when the coumarin stopped.

Cinnamon may also lower blood sugar levels, so if you take diabetes medications (antidiabetes drugs), there's a risk of additive effects — meaning your blood sugar could drop too much. Your doctor might need to adjust your diabetes medication dose.
Although food amounts of cinnamon are generally well tolerated, supplement doses — especially high ones over a long time — raise safety questions because of the coumarin content. Altogether, these interactions span 425 individual medications.

CinnaBoost(TM)
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, cassia cinnamon may have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Cassia cinnamon may lower blood glucose levels, and have additive effects in patients treated with antidiabetic agents. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary.
Hepatotoxic Drugs
Theoretically, large doses of cassia cinnamon might cause additive effects when used with hepatotoxic drugs.
There is some concern that ingesting large amounts of cassia cinnamon for an extended duration might cause hepatotoxicity in some people. Cassia cinnamon contains coumarin, which can cause hepatotoxicity in animal models. In humans, very high doses of coumarin from 50-7000 mg/day can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin use is discontinued. Lower amounts might also cause liver problems in sensitive people, such as those with liver disease or those taking potentially hepatotoxic agents.
