Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.

What’s inside

Low disclosure
Ingredient Transparency · database check
Low

Most active ingredients don't disclose an individual amount — you can't tell how much of each you're getting.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 0 of its 3 active ingredients.
  • “Proprietary Blend” is a proprietary blend — the label gives one combined amount (470 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.

Complete CBD Oil 10 mg is a liquid with 3 active ingredients. The main one is a proprietary blend that includes the other two: fractionated coconut oil (a carrier and ingredient in its own right) and full-spectrum hemp aerial parts extract, the source of the cannabidiol (CBD).

The product also lists terpenes that have been steam-distilled, likely to preserve the flavor and aroma profile of the plant. There are no other inactive ingredients listed.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

The label doesn't state a purpose we can grade — see each ingredient's own graded uses on its monograph instead.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

Evidence for this product's effectiveness is not established in the data we hold. The hemp extract has been studied for constipation and atopic dermatitis (eczema), but the data shows insufficient reliable evidence to rate it for those uses.

Coconut oil similarly has been studied for diabetes, high cholesterol, and weight management, but again there is insufficient reliable evidence. The specific CBD potency and formulation may have different research behind it — that would be a good question for the manufacturer or your doctor.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 2 of the 2 matched ingredients.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 2 of 2.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 2 of 2.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Both coconut oil and hemp products are generally well tolerated in food amounts. However, because this is a concentrated supplement extract rather than food, safety data is more limited.

The most common concern with coconut is allergic reaction, ranging from hives to anaphylaxis in people with coconut sensitivity — and coconut is grouped with tree nuts for allergen purposes in the US. Hemp seed has rare reports of allergic reactions and anaphylaxis as well.

There is also a rare case report of elevated liver enzymes in a young child given high-dose hemp extract, though that dose was much larger than this product. Coconut oil in pregnancy and breastfeeding is likely safe, but there isn't enough data on file to know whether the hemp extract is safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding — talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using it if you're pregnant or nursing.

Moderate interaction found
Known Interaction Concern · database check
Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 2 of the 2 matched ingredients can interact with medications — Coconut, Hemp.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs; diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 1,019 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before taking this product, double-check if you're on estrogens or hormone therapy — hemp may interfere with them (Moderate severity). You should also confirm with your doctor or pharmacist if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs, blood pressure medications (including ACE inhibitors), or any drugs broken down by CYP1A2 or CYP3A4 enzymes, since the hemp may reduce their effectiveness or add unwanted effects.

If you take antidiabetes medication, monitor your blood sugar more closely because coconut oil might lower it further.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

This product may be worth considering if you're exploring hemp-based supplements, but blood thinners, hormone therapy, blood pressure medications, and certain other drugs deserve a careful check first because of documented interactions. The safety data is limited since it's a concentrated extract rather than food.

Before you start, run your medications through the checker on this page and talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist, especially if you have a tree nut or coconut allergy.

Estrogens

Theoretically, hemp might interfere with hormone therapy due to its estrogenic effects.
In an ovariectomized animal model, a diet containing hemp seed 1%, 2%, or 10% resulted in normalized plasma levels of 17-beta-estradiol. The mechanism of action for this effect is unclear.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)

Theoretically, consuming hemp seed protein isolate with ACE inhibitors might have additive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.
Hemp seed protein hydrolysate has shown ACE inhibitor-like effects in a hypertensive animal model. However, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans. Until more is known, monitor blood pressure and potassium levels.

Likelihood Unlikely Evidence D
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

Theoretically, hemp seed might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
In animal research, hemp seed at 5% of the diet inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro. However, in human research, taking hemp seed oil 2 grams daily for 12 weeks does not inhibit the aggregation of platelets in vitro.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Antihypertensive Drugs

Theoretically, hemp seed protein may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
In a hypertensive animal model, hemp seed protein hydrolysate reduced systolic blood pressure by a mechanism possibly involving the inhibition of renin and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activities. However, there was no effect of hemp seed protein on blood pressure in normotensive animals. Furthermore, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans.

Likelihood Unlikely Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP1A2 enzymes.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP3A4 enzymes.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D

Complete CBD Oil 10 mg by Bluebird Botanicals: Common Questions

Does Complete CBD Oil 10 mg by Bluebird Botanicals interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Complete CBD Oil 10 mg has a known interaction with 1,018 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Complete CBD Oil 10 mg contains 3 active ingredients, and an interaction can come from any of them. We check every ingredient, combine the results into one list per medication, and show which ingredient and mechanism is responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Is this safe if I have a tree nut or coconut allergy?
It's a real concern. Coconut is declared as a tree nut allergen in the US, and both coconut and hemp seed can trigger allergic reactions — some as severe as anaphylaxis. If you have a known allergy to either, avoid this product and talk with your doctor or pharmacist first.
Will this product lower my blood sugar if I'm on diabetes medication?
Possibly. Animal research suggests coconut oil might increase insulin and lower blood glucose, so if you take diabetes medication, monitor your levels closely when you start and check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this.
Can I take this while I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Coconut oil is likely safe in pregnancy and breastfeeding, but there isn't enough data on file to know whether the hemp extract is safe in either situation. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice before using it.
Will this interact with my estrogen or hormone therapy?
Yes, theoretically. The hemp extract has estrogenic effects and may interfere with how your hormones work. Check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting if you're on hormone therapy.
What does 'full-spectrum hemp aerial parts extract' mean?
It means the extract comes from the above-ground parts of the hemp plant and contains the whole plant's range of compounds — cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plant constituents — rather than CBD alone.
Why is there fractionated coconut oil in a CBD product?
Fractionated coconut oil is a common carrier oil in supplements — it helps dissolve and deliver the CBD, and it's mild-tasting. It also contributes minor interactions of its own that you should be aware of with certain medications.
