MicroBiotic Women's Complete contains 24 active bacterial strains — a mix of Lactobacillus species, Bifidobacterium species, Streptococcus thermophilus, and a few others. These are live, active microorganisms intended to support your gut flora.
The product also contains inulin (a prebiotic fiber that feeds beneficial bacteria), cellulose, rice bran extract, and silica as inactive ingredients.

The evidence for most of these strains is limited. L. acidophilus and B. bifidum have been rated possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and L. acidophilus is also possibly effective for bacterial vaginosis.
B. bifidum shows possibly effective evidence for respiratory tract infections as well. For the rest of the strains and most other health claims, the data we hold rates them as having insufficient reliable evidence — we simply don't know yet if they work for those purposes.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. That said, the safety data are limited, and caution is advised — especially if you're very ill, immunocompromised, have a central venous catheter, or are a preterm infant.
Rare cases of bacterial bloodstream infections and serious infections have been reported in critically ill patients using Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus products. Mild gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and burping have been reported, though these are uncommon.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding safety data are largely not on file for most ingredients in this formula; B. longum is rated possibly safe in pregnancy, but for the others, you'll want to talk with your doctor or pharmacist before use.

L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
B. breve
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium breve with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. breve.
Since B. breve preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. breve preparations by at least 2 hours.
B. longum
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
