What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Mwendo against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.

What’s inside
Full disclosure
Mwendo has 4 active ingredients. ParActin is a standardized andrographis extract, used traditionally for immune support and inflammation.
Cissus quadrangularis extract comes from a plant studied for weight management and metabolic health. VitaCherry is a sour cherry concentrate, included for recovery support.
BioCell Collagen is a hydrolyzed collagen product for joint and connective tissue health. The capsule also contains inactive ingredients: hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
ParActin (andrographis) is rated possibly effective for ulcerative colitis, tonsillopharyngitis (sore throat), and osteoarthritis. Evidence for familial Mediterranean fever is insufficient to rate.
Cissus quadrangularis extract is rated possibly effective for obesity; evidence for cholesterol, bone density, cancer, and epilepsy is insufficient. VitaCherry (sour cherry) is possibly effective for athletic performance; evidence for ADHD, focus, muscle soreness after exercise, exercise-related infection risk, and fibromyalgia is insufficient.
We hold no effectiveness data for BioCell Collagen.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Andrographis (ParActin) is often well tolerated short-term, but long-term safety and product quality aren't well established. Common side effects include abdominal discomfort, altered taste, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, vomiting, itching, and rash — especially at higher doses or beyond 14 days.
Rare serious effects include severe allergic reactions including anaphylaxis. Skin reactions are frequently reported.
Cissus quadrangularis is generally well tolerated short-term; long-term safety isn't well studied. Reported side effects (headache, insomnia, flatulence, diarrhea, gastritis, dry mouth) occur at rates similar to placebo.
VitaCherry (sour cherry) is generally well tolerated as whole fruit; concentrated supplements are less studied. Reported side effects include abdominal pain, weakness, GI upset, and loose stools, especially at higher doses.
One case of possible cherry allergy rash has been reported.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your medications before taking Mwendo. ParActin (andrographis) has Moderate interactions with blood thinners and blood pressure drugs, and with immunosuppressants — it may increase bleeding risk or lower blood pressure further, or interfere with immune-suppressing effects.
Cissus quadrangularis may increase low blood sugar risk with diabetes medications (Moderate). There are also Minor interactions documented with etoricoxib, celecoxib, and glipizide, though their clinical impact is unclear.
Run your exact drugs through the checker on this page.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Mwendo may be worth considering if you're interested in joint support and recovery, but it's not for everyone. Be very careful if you take blood thinners, blood pressure medications, immunosuppressants, or diabetes drugs — these need a pharmacist's review first.
If you're pregnant, nursing, or planning either, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting.

ParActin also has Moderate interactions with immunosuppressants — it may interfere with how these medications work. Additionally, there are Minor interactions documented with specific pain relievers (etoricoxib and celecoxib) and the diabetes drug glipizide, though the clinical significance of these is unclear.
Cissus quadrangularis extract carries a Moderate interaction with diabetes medications — it may increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) when combined with antidiabetes drugs. VitaCherry (sour cherry) has no interactions documented in our data.
We were unable to check BioCell Collagen for interactions.
Altogether, these interactions span 497 individual medications. Use the medication checker on this page to look up your exact drugs before starting Mwendo.

ParActin
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, andrographis might increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Animal and laboratory studies suggest that andrographis has antiplatelet effects.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, andrographis might increase the risk of hypotension when used with antihypertensive drugs.
Animal research suggests that andrographis has hypotensive effects.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, andrographis might interfere with the effects of immunosuppressive drugs.
Laboratory research suggests that andrographolide has immunostimulant activity.
Celecoxib (Celebrex)
Theoretically, andrographis extract might increase the maximum concentration and time to peak concentration of celecoxib. The clinical significance of these changes is unclear.
Animal research suggests that andrographis extract taken orally increases the maximum concentration and time to peak concentration of celecoxib but does not appear to impact the area under the curve.
Etoricoxib (Arcoxia)
Theoretically, andrographis might decrease the absorption of etoricoxib, although the clinical significance is unclear.
Animal research shows that andrographis extract, or the constituent andrographolide, taken orally with etoricoxib decreases the bioavailability of etoricoxib. However, this reduced bioavailability is not correlated with a reduction in the anti-inflammatory effects of etoricoxib in arthritic mice models. The clinical significance of this interaction is unclear.
Glipizide (Glucotrol)
Theoretically, andrographis extract might increase the maximum concentration and area under the curve of glipizide; however, opposite effects are seen with the constituent, andrographolide. The clinical significance of this interaction is unclear.
Animal research suggests that andrographis extract taken orally with glipizide in diabetes-induced rats increases the maximum concentration and area under the curve of glipizide. However, the opposite effect is seen with the constituent, andrographolide, in which the maximum concentration and area under the curve are decreased when taken with glipizide.
Cissis quadrangularis extract
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, Cissus quadrangularis might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Small clinical studies suggest that Cissus quadrangularis might reduce fasting blood glucose in individuals with overweight or obesity.
