ProBio SAP Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by NFH
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking ProBio SAP against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
ProBio SAP is a blend of 10 active probiotic ingredients — live beneficial bacteria strains designed to support digestive and immune health. The blend includes multiple Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus, Lacticaseibacillus, and Streptococcus species, each chosen for potential roles in gut function and microbial balance.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients including inulin and arabinogalactan (both prebiotic fibers that feed beneficial bacteria), potato starch, ascorbic acid, magnesium stearate, and cellulose-based capsule material.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for ProBio SAP's individual strains varies by condition. Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus and Lactiplantibacillus plantarum are rated Possibly Effective for atopic dermatitis (eczema), and both are also Possibly Effective for antibiotic-associated diarrhea and atopic disease.
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum is additionally rated Possibly Effective for high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia), ulcerative colitis, and common cold. For many other uses — allergic rhinitis, asthma, depression, cognitive decline, and others — the evidence in our data is rated Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate, meaning the research so far hasn't established whether these strains work.
No ingredient in this product is rated as Possibly Ineffective for any condition.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
All the probiotic strains in ProBio SAP are generally well tolerated in healthy people. In clinical use, mild gastrointestinal side effects such as bloating, flatulence, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, and stomach rumbling have been reported rarely with some strains — though these aren't guaranteed to occur.
The main safety concern is for people who are very ill or have weakened immune systems (such as those in intensive care or with severe infection): there have been rare reports of these live bacteria entering the bloodstream (bacteremia) or causing infection in those at-risk populations. Because safety data are limited, especially in pregnancy and breastfeeding, check with your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus is rated Possibly Safe in both pregnancy and lactation; Lacticaseibacillus casei and Lactiplantibacillus plantarum are rated Possibly Safe in pregnancy but we lack data for lactation.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you start ProBio SAP, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you take antibiotic drugs (Moderate interaction). These medications might kill the live bacteria in the product and reduce its effectiveness, so you'll need to separate dosing.
Since these are live organisms, caution is also warranted if you have a serious illness or weakened immune system — check with your own healthcare provider before beginning.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
ProBio SAP is a multi-strain probiotic blend that may help with certain conditions like eczema and antibiotic-associated diarrhea, though many uses aren't yet proven. If you take antibiotics, you'll need to time this product separately from your doses — talk to your doctor or pharmacist about the right spacing.
People who are seriously ill or immune-compromised should check with their doctor before starting, and anyone with questions about whether it's right for them should discuss it with their healthcare provider.

ProBio SAP by NFH Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
ProBio SAP by NFH contains multiple probiotic strains that interact with antibiotic drugs.
The affected ingredients are Bifidobacterium breve, Bifidobacterium longum, Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus (two strains), Lactiplantibacillus plantarum, Lacticaseibacillus casei, Lactobacillus delbrueckii, and Lactobacillus helveticus — all through a Moderate interaction with antibiotics. When you take antibiotics at the same time as these live organisms, the antibiotics may kill a significant portion of the probiotic bacteria, reducing their effectiveness.
You'll want to space out doses: take your antibiotic and this product several hours apart, or ask your doctor or pharmacist for the best timing.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
We could not check two of the probiotic strains in this blend — Bifidobacterium infantis and Streptococcus salivarius ssp. thermophilus — because we hold no data for them.
Almost all checked ingredients carry a general caution for people who are seriously ill or have weakened immune systems, since there's a rare but documented risk of these live bacteria spreading into the bloodstream (bacteremia) in those populations. The safety data are limited overall, so it's important to discuss this product with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you have a serious illness or compromised immunity.
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications. Use the search tool on this page to check your exact prescriptions before you begin.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
