Ultimate Fiber Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Ultimate Fiber against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Ultimate Fiber by Professional Botanicals
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Ultimate Fiber contains 11 ingredients total. The active components include ashwagandha (an adaptogenic herb traditionally used for stress), rhodiola (another adaptogen), cordyceps (a medicinal fungus), reishi mushroom, jiaogulan (also called gynostemma), and eleuthero (also known as Siberian ginseng).
The product also contains digestive enzymes: protease, amylase, lipase, and cellulase, which help break down proteins, starches, fats, and fiber respectively. Three ingredients — labeled as proprietary blends (Proprietary Blend, AdPT, and EDS) — have their component ingredients listed separately within the product.
Inactive ingredients listed are cellulose, water, and calcium stearate. We could not check amylase, cellulase, and 100% guar gum against our interaction database.
Does it work?
Not established
Ashwagandha is possibly effective for insomnia, anxiety, stress, and generalized anxiety disorder, though evidence is preliminary. Gynostemma (jiaogulan) is possibly effective for diabetes management.
Cordyceps, however, appears possibly ineffective for athletic performance — the evidence does not support this common claim. The other active ingredients — rhodiola, reishi, eleuthero, and the digestive enzymes — lack sufficient reliable evidence in our data to rate their effectiveness for any condition.
Lipase, protease, and cordyceps are rated insufficient evidence for the conditions they've been studied in, meaning the data we hold does not establish whether they work.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Ashwagandha is generally well tolerated in the short term but carries serious safety concerns: it is likely unsafe in pregnancy (traditionally linked to miscarriage risk) and there is not enough data to recommend it while breastfeeding. The most common side effects are mild — diarrhea, nausea, gastrointestinal upset, and vomiting — but rare cases of liver damage, including acute hepatitis and liver failure, have been reported.
A case report also described a person who developed overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) after taking ashwagandha for hypothyroidism management, and another involving intracranial bleeding and blood vessel constriction. Rhodiola, cordyceps, reishi, jiaogulan, and eleuthero are all generally well tolerated short-term but should be avoided in pregnancy and while breastfeeding due to insufficient safety data.
Common mild effects include dizziness, dry mouth, diarrhea, nausea, and headache. Protease and lipase have limited safety data in pregnancy and breastfeeding and should only be used if advised by your doctor.
None of the digestive enzymes have reported serious adverse effects in adults at typical doses.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Ultimate Fiber, double-check any blood pressure medications (Moderate severity), diabetes drugs (Moderate), blood thinners including warfarin or aspirin (Moderate), immune-suppressing drugs like cyclosporine (Moderate), sedating medications including benzodiazepines (Moderate), thyroid hormone replacement (Moderate), digoxin for heart rhythm (Moderate), and drugs metabolized by liver enzymes CYP1A2, CYP2C9, or CYP3A4 (Moderate to Minor severity). Discuss with your own doctor or pharmacist before combining this product with any prescription or over-the-counter medication.

Ultimate Fiber by Professional Botanicals Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Ultimate Fiber by Professional Botanicals contains several ingredients with documented drug interactions.
The most serious concern is ashwagandha's potential to cause liver damage (hepatotoxicity) when combined with other drugs that stress the liver — this is a Moderate-severity interaction. Through its ashwagandha, rhodiola, cordyceps, reishi, jiaogulan (gynostemma), and eleuthero content, this product may interact with blood pressure medications, diabetes drugs, blood thinners (anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents), and immune-suppressing drugs.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Ashwagandha carries Moderate-severity interactions with sedating drugs (including benzodiazepines and other central nervous system depressants), thyroid hormone replacement, and medications metabolized by the liver enzyme CYP1A2. Rhodiola may increase levels of drugs processed by liver enzymes CYP2C9, CYP1A2, and CYP3A4, and carries a specific Moderate interaction with losartan (a blood pressure drug).
Eleuthero also inhibits CYP1A2, CYP2C9, and P-glycoprotein transporters, and has a documented Moderate interaction with digoxin (a heart rhythm medication).
Cordyceps, reishi, jiaogulan, and eleuthero each carry Moderate interactions with blood thinners or anticoagulants due to antiplatelet effects. Cordyceps and jiaogulan may also interfere with immunosuppressive therapy.
Protease, amylase, cellulase, and 100% guar gum could not be checked against the database — we hold no data for them.
Altoghether, these interactions span 1,500 individual medications. Before starting this product, check your exact prescriptions with the tool on this page or discuss with your doctor or pharmacist.
