Acetaminophen, Hydrocodone falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group 5-htp interacts with.

Here's the gist with Norco or Vicodin (that's acetaminophen plus the opioid hydrocodone) and 5-HTP. The hydrocodone part already tends to make people sleepy and slow their breathing. 5-HTP, on its own, has been linked to drowsiness in studies. Put the two together and you may feel more tired, foggy, or sluggish than usual.

I want to be honest about the evidence here: this is mostly a theoretical concern based on how each one acts, not something proven by hard studies. Still, it's worth respecting. If you take this pain medicine, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding 5-HTP, and go easy on driving or other tasks until you know how the combo affects you.
