hydrocortisone, pyrilamine, chlorpheniramine falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group 5-htp interacts with.

Combining serotonergic drugs with 5-HTP might cause additive serotonergic effects.
5-HTP can increase serotonin levels and cause serotonergic effects. Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with 5-HTP might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome and cerebral vasoconstrictive disorders. However, serotonin syndrome with 5-HTP has not yet been reported in humans. Monitor patients for signs of serotonin syndrome and other serotonergic side effects if using 5-HTP with serotonergic drugs.

This product, sold as HC Derma-Pax, is a combination of hydrocortisone (a steroid), pyrilamine, and chlorpheniramine (both antihistamines). The reason it lands on a serotonin-related interaction list is the antihistamine part, since some antihistamines can nudge serotonin activity a little. The concern is that pairing 5-HTP, which raises serotonin, with anything serotonergic could in theory add up and cause too much serotonin.

Honestly, this one is very theoretical. The flagged interaction is based on pharmacology, not real cases, and Derma-Pax is usually applied to the skin where very little gets into your body. Serotonin syndrome (agitation, sweating, fast heartbeat, shivering) would be quite unlikely here. Still, if you take 5-HTP regularly or feel any of those symptoms, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.
