These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Black Tea interacts with whole categories of medication. Aspirin, Caffeine, Dover's Pwd falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Black Tea in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Aspirin, Caffeine, Dover's Pwd
Aspirin, Caffeine, Dover's Pwd falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Black Tea interacts with.
Black tea contains caffeine. Caffeine is reported to have antiplatelet activity. Theoretically, the caffeine in black tea might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with antiplatelet drugs. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing about this combo product: it already contains aspirin, which thins your blood and reduces how easily your platelets clump together. Black tea adds caffeine, which lab studies suggest may have a mild blood-thinning effect of its own. So on paper, sipping black tea alongside this medicine could nudge your bleeding risk up a little, with things like easier bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach upset.
That said, I want to keep this in perspective. This concern comes only from test-tube and animal research, and it has not actually been seen in people. A normal cup or two of tea is very unlikely to cause trouble. If you take this product regularly or notice unusual bruising or bleeding, just check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

STIMULANT DRUGS
2 of 2Aspirin, Caffeine, Dover's Pwd also falls under STIMULANT DRUGS.
Black tea contains caffeine. Due to the central nervous system (CNS) stimulant effects of caffeine, concomitant use with stimulant drugs can increase the risk of adverse effects.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version: this medicine already has caffeine built right into it, and black tea brings even more caffeine to the party. So when you drink tea on top of taking it, you're basically stacking two sources of a stimulant. That can add up faster than you'd expect.
What might you feel? Things like jitteriness, a racing or pounding heart, trouble sleeping, an upset stomach, or feeling wired and anxious. This is mostly a theoretical concern based on expert opinion, not strong studies, so an occasional cup is unlikely to cause trouble for most folks. But if you're sensitive to caffeine or drinking several cups a day, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
