These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Black Tea interacts with whole categories of medication. Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Black Tea in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone
Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Black Tea interacts with.
Black tea contains caffeine. Caffeine is reported to have antiplatelet activity. Theoretically, the caffeine in black tea might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with antiplatelet drugs. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination pill already contains aspirin, which thins the blood by keeping platelets from sticking together. The concern here is that black tea also has caffeine, and in lab studies caffeine showed mild antiplatelet activity of its own. Stacked on top of aspirin, the theory is that your blood could be slightly less likely to clot, which might mean easier bruising, longer bleeding from small cuts, or stomach irritation.
Here's the honest part: this has only been seen in test-tube and animal research, never reported in actual people. A normal cup or two of tea is very unlikely to cause trouble. Still, if you notice unusual bruising, black stools, or bleeding that won't stop, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

STIMULANT DRUGS
2 of 2Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone also falls under STIMULANT DRUGS.
Black tea contains caffeine. Due to the central nervous system (CNS) stimulant effects of caffeine, concomitant use with stimulant drugs can increase the risk of adverse effects.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version: this combo product, Damason-P, already contains caffeine right in the tablet. Black tea brings even more caffeine to the table. So when you drink several cups while taking this medicine, you're essentially stacking caffeine on top of caffeine. That can nudge up the usual jittery effects, things like a racing or pounding heart, feeling wired or restless, trouble sleeping, and a mild bump in blood pressure.
This is more of a theoretical, common-sense caution based on expert opinion, not a dangerous reaction. A cup or two of tea is unlikely to be a problem for most folks. Just be mindful if you're sensitive to caffeine or drinking a lot of it. If the hydrocodone makes you drowsy and you're loading up on tea to fight that, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor first.
