Fondaparinux falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Breadfruit interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs might increase the risk of bleeding. In vitro research shows that certain flavonoid constituents from breadfruit root extract can inhibit thromboxane formation and reduce platelet aggregation.
Some of these drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the gist: Fondaparinux (Arixtra) is a blood thinner that lowers your blood's ability to clot. Some lab studies suggest certain compounds in breadfruit, mostly from concentrated leaf or root extracts, may make platelets a little less sticky. Stack that on top of an already powerful anticoagulant, and in theory you could nudge your bleeding risk up a bit. With Fondaparinux that might show up as easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or bleeding that takes longer to stop.

I want to keep this in perspective. This concern comes from test-tube work, not real patients, and eating breadfruit as a normal food is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated leaf teas or supplements are the bigger question mark. Since you're on an injectable blood thinner, please run any breadfruit products past your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Fondaparinux Injection

What Is Fondaparinux Injection Used For?

Brand name: Arixtra

Fondaparinux sodium injection is used to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) — blood clots that form in the legs — in adults who are having hip fracture surgery, hip replacement surgery, knee replacement surgery, or abdominal surgery. Preventing these clots also lowers the risk of a clot traveling to the lungs (pulmonary embolism, or PE).

It is also used to treat acute DVT and acute pulmonary embolism in adults, typically started alongside warfarin. In children aged 1 year and older who weigh at least 10 kg (about 22 lbs), fondaparinux sodium injection is approved to treat venous thromboembolism (VTE) — blood clots in the veins.
