Chlordiazepoxide, Clidinium Bromide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Brussels Sprout interacts with.

Animal research suggests that Brussels sprout can induce cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) activity. Theoretically, Brussels sprout might increase the clearance and decrease the effects of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2. Some drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 include clozapine (Clozaril), cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril), fluvoxamine (Luvox), haloperidol (Haldol), imipramine (Tofranil), mexiletine (Mexitil), olanzapine (Zyprexa), pentazocine (Talwin), propranolol (Inderal), tacrine (Cognex), theophylline, zileuton (Zyflo), zolmitriptan (Zomig), and others.

Here's the gist with Librax (chlordiazepoxide plus clidinium). The chlordiazepoxide part is a benzodiazepine that's partly handled by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. Brussels sprouts contain compounds that, in lab and animal studies, seem to speed that enzyme up. In theory, that could clear chlordiazepoxide a bit faster and make it slightly less effective, so you might notice less relief from anxiety or stomach cramping.

The honest truth is that this is theoretical and based only on animal data, and everyday food amounts of Brussels sprouts are very unlikely to cause a real problem. Concentrated supplement extracts are a different story. Enjoy them in your diet, and if you're worried or use extracts, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
