Iloprost falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Burdock interacts with.

Theoretically, taking burdock with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs might increase the risk of bleeding.

In vitro research shows that lignans from burdock reduce rabbit platelet aggregation by inhibiting platelet activating factor. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the thing about iloprost (Ventavis): besides relaxing the blood vessels in your lungs, it also makes your platelets a little less sticky, so it has a mild blood-thinning effect of its own. Burdock may do something similar. Lab studies (using rabbit platelets, not people) suggest compounds in burdock can slow platelets down a bit too.

Stacked together, the worry is a slightly higher chance of bleeding or bruising, things like nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or bruises that show up easily. I want to be honest though: this is theoretical and has never actually been reported in humans, and burdock eaten as a vegetable is unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplements are the bigger question. Just run it by your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.
