Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Beclomethasone
Beclomethasone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Cannabidiol (cbd) interacts with.
In vitro and animal research shows that cannabidiol inhibits CYP3A4. In human studies and case reports, cannabidiol has been associated with an increase in plasma levels of the CYP3A4 substrates zonisamide, tacrolimus, everolimus, citalopram, midazolam, and methadone.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the gist: CBD can slow down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, and beclomethasone is one of the medicines that enzyme helps break down. In theory, that could let more of the steroid hang around in your body. The good news is that beclomethasone (Beclovent, Vanceril) is an inhaled asthma preventer, so very little of it actually reaches your bloodstream. That makes a meaningful interaction unlikely for most people using their inhaler as directed.
If anything, higher steroid exposure over time could raise the small risk of typical steroid effects like a hoarse voice, mouth thrush, or, rarely, the broader effects of extra steroid. Don't change your inhaler or your CBD on your own. Just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up so they can keep an eye on things.

About Cannabidiol (cbd)
What is Cannabidiol (cbd)?
- Anxiety and stress
- Sleep problems
- Chronic pain
- Certain seizure disorders
- Inflammation
CBD is a compound from the cannabis (hemp) plant that does not cause a 'high.' It has strong evidence only for certain rare seizure disorders (as a prescription drug), while most other popular uses are still backed by limited or early research. Product quality varies a lot, so talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you take other medicines.
About Beclomethasone Oral Inhalation
What Is Beclomethasone Oral Inhalation Used For?
Brand names: Beclovent, Vanceril
Beclomethasone dipropionate HFA inhalation aerosol (brand: Qvar Redihaler) is used for the ongoing, daily management of asthma in adults and children 5 years of age and older. It is a preventive (maintenance) therapy — not a rescue inhaler — meaning it helps control asthma over time rather than treating sudden symptoms.
Important: Qvar Redihaler is not for the relief of sudden asthma attacks or acute bronchospasm. Always keep a separate fast-acting (rescue) inhaler on hand for those moments.
