Aliskiren falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Cannabigerol (cbg) interacts with.

Theoretically, taking cannabigerol with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research shows that an intraperitoneal injection of cannabigerol lowers blood pressure. The mechanism of action may be related to alpha-2-adrenoreceptor activity. The effect of oral intake of cannabigerol is unclear and this has not been shown in humans.

Here's the simple version: aliskiren (Tekturna) already works to bring your blood pressure down, and there's a thought that CBG might nudge it down a little further. In animal studies, CBG lowered blood pressure, possibly by acting on certain nerve receptors. If those two effects stacked, you could feel things like dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint when you stand up, which are signs your pressure has dropped too low.

I want to keep this in perspective, though. This concern comes only from lab and animal research, not from people, and we don't even know if CBG taken by mouth does the same thing. So it's a theoretical caution, not a proven problem. Aliskiren is not a prodrug, so this is about added effect, not changed activation. If you'd like to try CBG, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first so they can watch your numbers.

Aliskiren and Tekturna tablets are both approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and in children who are at least 6 years old and weigh 50 kg (about 110 lbs) or more. Lowering high blood pressure reduces the risk of serious events like strokes and heart attacks.
