Amiloride, Hydrochlorothiazide falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Casein Peptides interacts with.

Theoretically, combining these casein peptides with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Clinical research shows that some casein peptides, including the lactotripeptides isoleucine-proline-proline (IPP) and valine-proline-proline (VPP), can modestly reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension.

Here's the simple version: your amiloride/hydrochlorothiazide combo already works to lower your blood pressure by helping your kidneys clear extra salt and water. Casein peptides may gently nudge blood pressure down too, partly by blocking the same ACE enzyme some BP medicines target. Stack the two and the effects can add up, so your numbers could drop more than expected.

If that happens, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or wobbly when you stand up. The research behind this is modest, and the effect from supplements is usually mild, but it's real enough to watch. Please don't change your medicine on your own. Just check in with your pharmacist or doctor before adding these peptides, and keep an eye on your home blood pressure readings.

What Is Amiloride and Hydrochlorothiazide Used For?

Brand names: Moduretic, Amilzide, Moduret 25, Amil-Co

Amiloride hydrochloride and hydrochlorothiazide tablets are used for patients with high blood pressure (hypertension) or congestive heart failure who tend to develop low potassium (hypokalemia) when taking a thiazide or other diuretic alone — or for whom keeping potassium levels in a normal range is especially important, such as people taking digoxin or those with significant heart rhythm problems.

The tablets may be used on their own or alongside other blood pressure medicines, such as methyldopa or beta blockers. This combination product is not intended as the first-choice treatment for swelling (edema) or high blood pressure unless low potassium is a specific concern.
