Panobinostat falls under QT INTERVAL-PROLONGING DRUGS — the group Cesium interacts with.

Theoretically, taking cesium concomitantly with other drugs that prolong the QT interval may increase the risk of ventricular arrhythmias and death.
Taking cesium can prolong the QT interval on electrocardiogram (ECG). In many cases, cesium-induced QT prolongation has led to serious adverse effects, including torsades de pointes, cardiac arrest, and death.

Here's the heart of the issue: panobinostat (Farydak) already carries a real risk of prolonging your QT interval, which is the electrical timing of your heartbeat. When that timing gets stretched too long, it can trigger a dangerous rhythm called torsades de pointes. Cesium does the very same thing, and it has caused serious arrhythmias, cardiac arrest, and even death in real cases.

Stacking these two together stacks the danger. This isn't about cesium changing how panobinostat is broken down; it's two QT-prolongers piling on at once. Honestly, cesium has no proven benefit for cancer and is genuinely risky on its own. Please don't use it, and talk with your oncology team or pharmacist before adding any supplement.

What is Cesium?

What Is Panobinostat Used For?

Brand name: Farydak

  • Panobinostat is used in combination with bortezomib (Velcade) and dexamethasone to treat people with multiple myeloma (a type of cancer of the bone marrow) who have already been treated two other medications, including bortezomib (Velcade). Panobinostat is in a class of medications called histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors. It works by killing cancer cells.
