Glasdegib falls under QT INTERVAL-PROLONGING DRUGS — the group Cinchona interacts with.

Theoretically, taking cinchona with other QT interval-prolonging drugs might cause an additive effect and increase the risk of ventricular arrhythmias.
Quinidine and quinine, which are constituents of cinchona, prolong the QT interval.

Here's the concern with pairing cinchona and Glasdegib (Daurismo). Both can stretch out the heart's electrical reset, something doctors call QT prolongation. Glasdegib already carries a known QT warning on its own, and cinchona bark contains quinine and quinidine, which also lengthen the QT interval. Stacking the two could add up and raise the chance of a dangerous irregular heartbeat.

I'll be honest, this one is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave rather than reports of it actually happening together. Still, since Glasdegib is a leukemia treatment and heart rhythm is serious, I wouldn't take that gamble. Please loop in your oncology team or pharmacist before using any cinchona product so they can check your heart rhythm and other QT-affecting medicines.

What Is Glasdegib Used For?

Brand name: Daurismo

Daurismo (glasdegib) is approved to treat newly-diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) — a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow. It is used specifically in adults who are 75 years of age or older, or in adults of any age whose other health conditions make intensive induction chemotherapy too risky.

Daurismo is not used alone. It is always given together with low-dose cytarabine, a separate chemotherapy medicine, as part of a 28-day treatment cycle.
