Here's the simple version: Darvocet pairs acetaminophen with propoxyphene, an opioid pain reliever that can already make you drowsy. Corydalis yanhusuo may have its own mild calming, sedative-like effect on the brain. When you take both, those two relaxing effects could stack on top of each other, so you might feel sleepier, foggier, dizzy, or more unsteady than usual. The propoxyphene part is the one to respect here, since opioids can slow your breathing if sedation gets deep.

I'll be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on how these things work and on animal studies, not strong human proof. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially before driving.

Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might increase serum levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence show that berberine can inhibit CYP2D6. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP2D6.

Here's the gist for the propoxyphene part of this combination. Corydalis may block a liver enzyme called CYP2D6, and propoxyphene leans on that same enzyme. If the herb slows that pathway down, more propoxyphene could linger in your system than usual. That can mean stronger opioid effects like drowsiness, dizziness, slowed breathing, nausea, or constipation. The acetaminophen piece isn't really affected here.

One important note: this is a theoretical concern based on how the chemistry should behave, not proven in real patients, so I don't want to alarm you. Still, propoxyphene is a sedating opioid, so any added build-up is worth respecting. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing the two.
