The piece of this combo that matters here is the phenobarbital, a barbiturate that calms the nervous system and can make you drowsy, slow your breathing, and leave you feeling foggy or unsteady. Corydalis yanhusuo may have its own mild calming, sedative-type effects. So stacking the two could, in theory, deepen that sleepiness more than you'd expect.

I want to be honest about the evidence: this concern is theoretical, based on how the herb behaves in lab and animal studies, not on real human reports. It's a reasonable caution, not an alarm. Since phenobarbital is already a strong sedative, please run Corydalis past your pharmacist or doctor first, and watch for extra drowsiness, dizziness, or feeling confused.
