Brentuximab Vedotin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Corydalis Yanhusuo interacts with.

Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might increase serum levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical research show that berberine moderately inhibits CYP3A4. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP3A4.

Here's the connection worth knowing. The active, cell-killing part of Adcetris (called MMAE) is cleared from your body partly by a liver enzyme named CYP3A4. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, which lab and early human studies suggest may modestly slow that same enzyme. In theory, that could let the active drug linger a bit longer and hit harder than intended.

With this drug, stronger exposure can mean worse side effects like low blood counts, infections, nerve tingling or numbness in your hands and feet, nausea, and fatigue. To be clear, this is a theoretical concern based on how things work, not proven in people on Adcetris. Still, since chemo has a narrow safety window, please don't add corydalis without first checking with your oncology team or pharmacist.

About Brentuximab Vedotin Injection

What Is Brentuximab Vedotin Injection Used For?

Brand name: Adcetris

Adcetris (brentuximab vedotin) is used to treat classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) in adults — including newly diagnosed advanced-stage disease, as consolidation therapy after a stem cell transplant, and in relapsed or refractory cases. It is also approved for pediatric patients aged 2 and older with previously untreated high-risk classical Hodgkin lymphoma, given in combination with chemotherapy.

Adcetris is also used for several T-cell lymphomas — including systemic anaplastic large cell lymphoma (sALCL), peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCL), primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma (pcALCL), and CD30-expressing mycosis fungoides (MF). Additionally, Adcetris is used in combination with lenalidomide and a rituximab product for adults with relapsed or refractory large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) who are not candidates for a stem cell transplant or CAR T-cell therapy.
