Here's the simple version: Chlordiazepoxide (Librium) is already a sedating medicine. It calms the brain to ease anxiety and alcohol withdrawal, which is why it can make you drowsy, foggy, or unsteady on your feet. Corydalis yanhusuo may have its own mild calming, sedative effect. If you take the two together, those effects could stack up and leave you more sleepy or slowed down than you expect.

I want to be honest about the evidence here. This concern is theoretical, based mostly on lab and animal studies of compounds in the herb, not on solid human research. So it may be a small issue or none at all. Still, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before combining them, and watch for extra drowsiness, dizziness, or trouble concentrating.

Chlordiazepoxide capsules are used to manage anxiety disorders or provide short-term relief of anxiety symptoms. They are also used to ease withdrawal symptoms in people going through acute alcohol withdrawal, and to reduce anxiety and apprehension before surgery.

Chlordiazepoxide is not intended for the everyday stress and tension of normal life. Its effectiveness beyond 4 months of use has not been well studied, so your doctor should regularly check whether it is still the right choice for you.
