Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might increase serum levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence show that berberine can inhibit CYP2D6. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP2D6.

Here's the idea behind this pairing. Corydalis contains berberine, and lab work suggests it may slow down a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. If a medicine is cleared through that enzyme, blocking it could let the drug build up a bit higher than usual. For chlorpropamide, more drug in your system would mean a stronger blood-sugar-lowering effect, so the real concern would be low blood sugar, with signs like shakiness, sweating, confusion, or feeling faint.

That said, I want to be honest with you. This is only a theoretical concern based on lab studies, not proven in people, and chlorpropamide is mostly handled by other pathways. Still, since low blood sugar matters, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with chlorpropamide. It's a sulfonylurea, which means its whole job is to push your pancreas to release more insulin and bring your blood sugar down. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, a compound that may also nudge blood sugar lower. Stack the two together and you could, in theory, end up with blood sugar that drops too far.

If that happens, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, confused, or unusually hungry. I'll be honest with you though, this concern is theoretical and based mostly on how these ingredients behave, not on solid human studies of the combination. Still, since chlorpropamide is long-acting, low sugars can linger. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.
