Here's the gist for cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril): your body partly clears this muscle relaxant using a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. Corydalis yanhusuo contains compounds (like berberine) that may slow that enzyme down. If that happens, cyclobenzaprine could hang around longer and build up a bit, which may strengthen its effects and side effects.

For cyclobenzaprine, that usually means more drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, and grogginess, which can add up if you're also driving or taking other sedating things. I'll be honest, though: this interaction is theoretical, based on lab work rather than solid human studies, so it may never cause a problem. Still, since both can make you sleepy, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Here's the basic idea. Your body clears cyclobenzaprine partly using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, which may gently slow that same enzyme down. If it does, cyclobenzaprine could clear a little slower and build up in your system, which would mean a stronger, longer effect than you expect.

For cyclobenzaprine, that usually shows up as more drowsiness, grogginess, dizziness, dry mouth, and trouble concentrating. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on lab and early data, not strong human studies, so it may not amount to much. What Is Cyclobenzaprine Used For?

Brand names: Cyclobenzaprine, Flexeril, Cycloprine

Cyclobenzaprine tablets and extended-release capsules are used alongside rest and physical therapy to relieve muscle spasm caused by acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — easing pain, tenderness, and limited movement. This use is intended for short-term treatment only (up to 2–3 weeks).

Tonmya, the sublingual (under-the-tongue) form of cyclobenzaprine, is separately indicated for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. It is not the same as the oral tablet or capsule formulations.
