Here's the idea in simple terms. Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to help clear donepezil (the medicine in the Adlarity patch). Corydalis contains compounds like berberine that may slow that enzyme down. If it does, more donepezil could linger in your system, which can nudge up its usual side effects.

With donepezil, that could mean more nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, trouble sleeping, muscle cramps, or a slower heart rate. I want to be honest though: this warning is theoretical, based mostly on lab work and how these substances behave, not on solid human studies. So it may never cause a real problem. Still, since Corydalis effects add up over time, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

Here's the gist for your donepezil patch (Adlarity). Your body relies partly on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear donepezil out of your system. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, which lab and early human studies suggest can moderately slow that same enzyme down. If it does, donepezil could build up a bit more than usual, which may nudge up its typical side effects.

With donepezil, that usually means things like nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, muscle cramps, trouble sleeping, or a slower heartbeat. To be fair, this is a theoretical concern based on how these compounds behave, not proven in people taking this exact combo.
